Nitrogen across oil and gas operations
Oil and gas facilities may use nitrogen for selected purging, blanketing, pressure-support, or pipeline services. Exact applications depend on engineering design and safety controls.

Where it fits
Nitrogen can displace oxygen or other gases during defined industrial activities, provide a dry or inert atmosphere, or be used in selected reservoir projects. Not every operation uses it.
Safety at the site
Nitrogen can create oxygen-deficient atmospheres without odor or warning. Work near tanks, pits, vessels, and discharge points needs site-specific controls and trained teams. This is not a field procedure.
